it's 4th dec, 9.32pm.
i should be in HCM City, Vietnam now,
resting in the Grand Hotel.
but I am not.
we reached Changi Airport at 11am this morning
and at check in, was told that A's canadian passport needs a visa to enter vietnam.
and we didn't think to check at all!
Well, A did check, but he checked about my passport.
perhaps he had stayed in singapore too long that he forgot he's using non-singapore passport.
there we were, be transported to counter 2.
jetstar staffs are not very helpful.
i know it's a cheap airline, cheap flight,
but they can still stand tall to give reasonable service, can't they?
not that i've anything against any other race (i love my students of all races!)
but the whole ground staffs (be it counter 4, counter 2 counter whatever),
are all malays.
they stood there with thick make-up that made them look like 35 years old when i believed they are 20 years old or younger.
they spoke to each other in Malay when we asked them for advice on what we should do at that moment.
not helpful at all.
- 3 girls were at the sales & tickets counter attending to one customer each time for payment of over-weight luggage. 3 girls to 1 customer!
finally one sensible girl spoke to us and offer to help call vietnam embassy for us.
we didn't stand there doing nothing. A went to buy a coffee so that he can use the internet to check online about applying for visa.
as usual of embassy inefficiency - office only function from 9am to 12pm.
at the same time, we have to call vietnam long distance to postpone our hotel booking.
finally, flight is postpone, hotel is postpone till next tuesday.
i'm stucked in singapore for another 5 days.
we went home.
the internet was down.
and i received a call from school.
i have to submit a paper on the 16th dec.
2 days after my holiday.
i'd better work on it now,
now that i'm stucked here, on my holiday week.
slept through the whole afternoon, depressed.
now i'm up,
internet is up.
tomorrow i will work on the paper.
argh.
bad week for us i guess.
A had to buy another ticket to fly direct back to spore from UK few days ago as the bangkok airport was closed. now we can't fly today without his visa.
what is next?
